Cannot update the icon for Xcode for some reason. It has a lock on it. How do I rid of this lock? http://i.imgur.com/IqtEp.png
It's protected by apple, but you can chage it doing this:
1º In Finder CMD+Shift+G and paste it: /Developer/Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Resources/
2º Rename XCode.icns to XCode2.icns and paste your icon with this name
3º Enjoy it! ^^

You'll probably have to restart ^^
That has just made the xcode icon disappear completely!
Not sure how to change it through Candybar (I never used that app  ) but try changing it manually:

Right-click/ctrl-click on Xcode, choose Get Info. In the bottom right is a little padlock, click it and it will prompt you for your password. Ta-da, unlocked! Copy/paste the icon you want over the icon shown in the Get Info pane.

Still not working. There's no padlock or anything in my get info button thing.
I can't use Lion and/or XCode 4, right now. Does anyone know if iCondxxxxr can customize this icon?

Thank you
Did you replace and icns or a png?, it must be a icns withe same name
This is what I have going on. http://i.imgur.com/NiD6W.png
Ok so you just have to paste there your new icon with this name Xcode.icns, it should be looks like this:

...icon caches won't be cleared, this way. For example, if XCode is in the Launchpad and/or in the Dock, these icons will almost certainly still look the same... and there are ways to clear caches automatically.
