So I posted (on dA and linked it here in the Screenshots thread) a shot of some new buttons I created for SL, as well as buttons for iTunes to go with them. I liked them very much.. yet the only problem is that they didn't really seem to go with any theme available (and with Lion right around the corner, I'm not starting a full theme).

I came up with these instead. They are inspired by Aqua's default buttons, as well as a suggestion that Joox made on my screenshot, saying he likes raised toolbar buttons more than sunken ones. I created these simply as an alternative to the default SL buttons. I fully intend on theming iTunes to match.. but is anyone interested in these? I know I will use them myself, obviously, but if there is any demand for them I can release once I'm finished with iTunes.

Looks nice but there's something weird about the seperator between the pushed/not pushed button, like it's going too far down...

It's supposed to look sunken in when pressed.

Does it look sunk in too much? I originally had it where it looked flush with the window when pressed, and that didn't look right to me at all.

I think you should make a blue variant to match your previously released selection bars

Oooh good call. The gradient is a little similar so that might look great.

That still looks yummy, but something still bugs me about the seperator. It's goes 1 or 2 pixel too far down, like it's sticking out and not part of the button. Bah, I can't phrase it correctly with my limited english, do you see what I mean?

See how the seperator seems to blend in a bit better? Well to my taste anyway, it's your theme and I don't want to be a nuisance to your creativity. No matter what, keep up the good work!

It's fixed.. I see what I did wrong. It doesn't help that my eyesight is poor.

Anyone have any ideas for a matching set of traffic lights?

Not sure about traffic lights, I welcome anything.

But to be completely honest, I still prefer the other sunken buttons thing you also have going. I'm more of a sunken fan, you know

I'm stumped on the traffic lights to be honest. I may just release it with the Triclops lights since I've already made so many traffic light sets. :-!

And as for the sunken buttons, I will release the iTunes.rsrc and the Themepark file containing the buttons at the same time as I release this one. I may also include a .psd in case anyone wants to theme anything else using the same gradient.

Yeah I wouldn't sweat over new traffic lights, any of them released lately can be used according to taste. Mix 'n match for you own personal theme, that's what I do anyway

Hehe I didn't mean you should scrap your first project to make "lifted" buttons o.O -- I am sure a bunch of people would use the "sunken" buttons, personally I feel like Nuala Theme already "perfected" the Lifted style lights and anyone can easily go edit the color gradient if they don't like the 'graphite blue' pressed look.

It was a good suggestion though, as I was looking for something that will match most default aqua elements well. The sunken buttons I made look good only with Nuala in my opinion.

I will release everything soon anyway, adding a .psd for the sunken buttons. The blue version of Finder and iTunes is done as well.

All that is left are previews and asking for permission to Side-7 for his Pixel Toolbar and whomever made the iOS Scrollbars.
