First off I believe before a new template is brought out this should first go through Thyraz & Pat (it is their decision on changes to the theme). Also Bli if you are going to post the theme on your site how about you include that the theme was created by Thyraz & Pat...from your site it looks like it is your theme (everyone has to understand just because we all came in to make icons doesn't mean we make the decisions on how the theme is changed).

Slyfox, you working on a FAQ, perhaps we can collaborate and I'll give you credit on the site. It would be more efficient than both of us writing the same things.

Hey Tundra, sorry for the mistake. I changed the page so it says who actually made the theme now. Once again, sorry for the mistake!

ok guys, i have read all your posts about your project to modify the icons size, personnaly i think that the icon folder method is the best way to theme for most people (no issues about shadow or icon size) even if there are some minor issues which can be resolve with easy way, so i don't agree to change the template size. I remind you that smaller icon size is a specificity of suave theme and i guess thyraz will not agree also.
thanks again to all people who contribute at the thread by sharing skills... ;)

Hey Tundra, sorry for the mistake. I changed the page so it says who actually made the theme now. Once again, sorry for the mistake!

No problem man I just know the time I have spent alone on this & Pat has been working on this theme now for months (also worked on the original Suave theme & I don't have to give an explanation for Thyraz of course).:)

Also I have been busy so have not been able to work on much. Is there not a way we can find out how to possibly fix the Cydia/default Apple icons instead. I do prefer the smaller size icons & believe that is the way Thyraz intended it to be...Pat correct me if I'm wrong I don't want to post the wrong information (I would use the icons method but can't use Summerboard mode with other Winterboard items I have installed).

Don't get me wrong I think that is great that you are helping out the new comers on your site, but just wanted to back sure credit is given where it is do. Take care and keep up the good work.

Now off of that subject here are some more requests that I have redone.

You're wrong there. Using the bundle method to theme the icons still causes the shadow/icon size problems. The only fix is to use Justin's template (from what I read).

The problem with the Icon method is that if you use it to theme your icons, then say, open up a folder or the multitasking dock, your icon will revert to the original.

that's true but you do not open up folder or multitasking dock so often and sure it's a desagrement but the icons look really nice and it's easier to theme...

Justin do you know if there is any possible way to correct the size with the Cydia/default icons instead that would be awesome if we could figure that out. I have tried replacing the default calculator icon within var/stash/Applications.* & the icon is still bigger.:(

Thank you very much bli! That is so much better than the ones I had made (it fits the theme better, I think).

Also, went ahead and made three Neuroshima Hex icons (a regular one with text and two without, with varying degrees of "glow" to reflect the game's post-apocalyptic theme :D):
Image Image Image

And I also made one BIT.TRIP Beat icon (which wraps up the requests I had, minus that alternative "Maps" icon):
Image

I was wondering, though, if someone could make a better BIT.TRIP icon than the one I provided? It's not very "suave" ... and my newbie photoshopping skills can only get me so far. Thank you very much, I greatly appreciate everyone's efforts in this thread (it's really made this new iPod look great!).

sotero wrote:@Slyfox

I'm using the bundles mode as you recommend, but I also tryed the Icons folder mode, some of the apps look better using the Icons folder mode, seems weird, but a few icons when using bundles mode look a bit greyed or "color washed" and same icon using the icons folder mode has more vivid colors....looking alot better. Is there an explanation for that?

An example worms2 Icon
used on bundles
com.team17.worms2
Icon.png

as found on http://iphone.xengi.net/cfbundleidentifier/

on Icon folder mode, with Worms2.png and Worms2@2x.png, looks alot better....

Yes, there is an explanation. You are using an outdated version of AppIconOverlay@2x.png which comes with the original bundle. You can find the correct one through one of the links on the first post. I will look it up and post it when I'm on my computer later.

ETA: Here is the corrected file from JustinR:
Image
From this thread: http://macthemes.net/forum/viewtopic.ph ... 76#p697676

To Pat, Bli etc:

My method just crops the canvas and shifts the icon so it lines up. All my icons are the same size AND are the smaller suave size as intended. I'll upload a screencap and the template I've been using after dinner. I'm also willing/intending to adjust all the icons already made to patch. The icons are NOT resized in this process and in display match how the default apps display with the bundles method.

Personally I find the icons reverting when using the icons folder annoying/ugly enough that I would rather do work and change the icons and have it display the way a Winterboard theme is meant to.

Bli, I will also send you the bits of FAQ that I have written up. :) It would be awesome if we could compile a page (or search engine/fetch system) that lists all the apps with their icons and bundle names.. The ultimate resource. :)
ETA: Sent!

I actually use FolderEnhancer for my folders, so I don't see them when I open folders, but when I use the multitasking dock, it does change back to the original, so there is still that problem.

When you use the multitasking dock, do they permanently change to original icons until you respring or only for the moment you are using the multitasking dock? Also what background are you using for FolderEnhancer to match this theme? Thanks for replies.
Okay, so here is what my phone looks like now: http://i810.photobucket.com/albums/zz28 ... ample1.png

As you can see, no shadows and everything lines up:
Image

Also, none of the icons are pixelated or "shrunk" looking; they're displaying at the right resolution and perfectly match the files when you lay one over the other.

All I did was crop the template for the app store icons and then move down 2 pixels:

I'm holding off on batch adjusting the ones that have been made until we get a consensus and Pat & Thyraz approve. :)
