For those of us that actually love the new iTunes 9 look and want to see it unify Mac OS X's GUI

-> LATEST SEED (read below then download)

A new seed has been uploaded.
Well then, here's the seed. It's at the GM stage now!

Changelog:
-Introduction of SnowTunes Noir and Noir Max
-Fixed Safari bookmark button
-Missing resources from B1.31 uninstaller have been added
-Bug fixes

IF YOU PLAN ON USING THE NOIR VARIATONS, please remember:
= iStat Menus must be downloaded for white time in the menubar
= Menubar transluceny must be UNCHECKED in Desktop Appearance Preferences. If you enable then disable it, the menubar will look funky. So just disable transparency before you logout when the install is done.
=I strongly recommend installing this dock if you plan on using Noir (and Noir Max), it fits perfectly with the theme:

Final release will be this weekend, along with a Firefox theme or persona and possibly other changes.

This is a "combo" style update, meaning you don't need to download a previous seed that was uploaded to install the full theme, what's in the dmg above will suffice.

Please download it as soon as you can if you're using an older build as this one fixes some issues as detailled in the changelog

Cooked up a mockup in PS (left the iTunes title in the header)

(sorry for the rough shadowing on the top left and right)

not bad. though i'd like to see the traffic lights a little smaller so that corner doesn't look so crowded

What about the bottom bar that displays the free space and stuff? Would that be themed as well (I think it looks slightly darker than the top).

If the UI of the entire OS matched itunes 9 I might like it more

I think the lights I put are the same size as any window, but I might've made 'em bigger by accident.

I agree though, only slightly smaller however...

The bottom bar is actually that dark, I took it directly from iTunes 9, yeah it's a big gradient lol.

with menubar and all... buttons could be a bit whiter...

I would really love to see a whole theme for SL in iT9 Ver.

But Menubar should be a focus point...

Anyway, as for the topic, I called the file "SnowTunes", that would be a neat title for a potential theme if you ask me. :p

Wish I knew how to go about making this one, I have themed a bit before but not extensively like this potential mega-project would require.

There is barely any difference to the normal Snow Leopard theme.
The grey looks about 10% brighter, and that's it.

What would be the point in doing such a minor change?

None, I was just screwing around, I guess the current menubar would be alright.

Well, the background for the menubar in my 2nd mockup IS the iTunes 9 column title (like Artist, Song, etc.) white/grey texture.

I wouldn't mind seeing a theme that just changes the window textures to the new iTunes 9 style. Nothing more nothing less.

I agree. Can't wait for someone to make one or guide me in the direction of how I can accomplish this.

Can you please tell me where you got that modified 2D Dock? I'd love for my dock to have the transparent glass border. Thanks!

I can kind of see why people would like this theme now... has a pastelly/linux style feel.

But not for me personally.

Oh and does anyone think the header in the Finder window mockup is too white? In iTunes's, you can see the gradient more clearly in the header (since it's also bigger than the Finder's)...

I'll probably re-make one later that reflects the actual gradient more nicely. Mine looks like white metal. iTunes is more gray metal that turns white near the top.

It's done, I think that's much more beautiful, there was too much white on the first mockup. (look at post 1 for new mockups)

If anyone else wants to contribute some resources to the mockup (ie glossy buttons, etc, feel free to do so )

Working on a fix: list headers coming, getting rid of iLeopard altogether and putting actual iTunes list stripes in (thought I had but I didn't)
