Really quick how-to for making icons
I have about 3 different ways to make icons but im just going to share 1 (at least for today)
because im super lazy and this one is easy
go to www.appshopper.com
search your app
save the icon image
open photoshop
open psd
open icon image
put icon image into the psd
right click the icon layer in the psd
click create clipping mask
adjust to what you want
that is a really quick way to do it

click the Img button
copy the link to the picture
put the link between the 2 Img thingys

dTunes

ok.... here are the applications I utilize that would be nice to have icons made for... I pulled the original icon off the iphone and then converted it so they would be visible... PNG's are a pain in the A**!!!  haha..

this theme truly rocks... thanks so much for creating it!

after i create a clipping mask how do i adjust it????

after i create a clipping mask how do i adjust it????

by adjust i just meant move it around so what you want to be in the icon is there

There is an addon call dock reflections that you can find in cydia. Once installed, reboot and goto setting to change settings.

I made two new files to work better with this theme. Unfortunately, the template.psd included with the theme has a 48px wide icon and it looks as if it needs to be 50px wide to work better. Anybody have the latest template? Until then, here is what I quickly hacked together...


Put them in this directory and make sure files are capitalized like below...

/Library/Themes/illumine.theme/Folders/UIKit.framework/ 

Here are the new files to use:

AppIconOverlay.png

AppIconShadow.png



The Woxy and Transmission icons are examples of how it will look.

I still don't really get it.

I have photoshop now.
I got the psd
I opened the icon image and psd in photoshop
I dragged over the image of the icon to the psd
Now what? Where's the icon layer in the psd?

in the layer pallette

I have PS 9.0 and I still don't understand how to create these icons.  I can't seem to drag the icon onto the PSD at all. 

hmm.. wait that guide isnt for the reflection is it? how'd you get those reflections below each app???

I'm sorry i've never used below CS3 so i dont know how to help you out

Its actually CS2, no worries...I hope someone can walk me thru this because I want to create some and help others.
