After you ported the font, start by double clicking the 0-glyph. This will bring up a window with the path of the font, just drag (or more with the arro keys) it down a bit and then do the same for the the other numbers (dont forget " : "). Then put the font on the phone and test it, if it's still to far high up then keep pulling it down.

I found this only happens if i change the default save location on the save popup
To fix the problem with fonts getting cut off, just make sure that they (the old helvetica and the new font) match up in the "TrueType-specific metrics" tab under "Metrics and Dimensions". Same command to open it. Command Alt F.
