Solution Sheet: Don't highlight unless you wish to know how to solve the puzzles!

1: Fire Wire port, clue in source says "Standards Based", the other name for Fire Wire is IEEE 1394. The Xs denote to remove those letters from the answers, and the arrows say to switch two letters around. Answer: 1934.

2: The first half of the key is highlighted. The first answer was 1934, so you take the 19 from that. The next clue is Winston - the prominent character in the novel 1984. Answer: 1984.

3: Under the tree are roots, but they're not like normal ones. They're square roots. The previous answer, as a square root is 44.542. The source tells you that you go from xx.xxx to xxxxx. Answer: 44542.

4: "Cogita, ergo sum" (I think, therefore I am) is a famous phrase from Descartes. The next clue is "DEATHDECAY", he died in 1650. "+351", so we now have the number 2001. The next clue describes space. 2001, space. There's a famous movie with that name. Answer: Odyssey.

5: The letters relate to numbers. 3<Apple>14[...]. That number should be recognizable as Pi (π). There's an Apple symbol. Apple, pi... Answer: Applepie

6: The phrase is describing time (there's an additional clue that reviews the word "tick", to help with this). There's then MPH. Time, MPH. With a little bit of detective work you can work out that the most famous MPH figure related to time is the speed required to go back and forward in time, in Back to The Future. Answer: 88.
