Hm, this doesn't seem to be working for me. It's weird, it works for badges, but the weather icon just won't change. I have it named correctly, and I've set permissions to 777 (not that it matters right?) Does it work for everyone else?

"In /Applications/Weather.app, edit info.plist. Remove the line SBIconClass and its string SBWeatherApplicationIcon" -toffeenut tongue

Oh? Do you need to do that with winterboard as well? I thought you didn't need to since WinterBoard is theming the SBWeatherCelsius.png icon in SpringBoard.app.

Yeah, on second thought I think I tried that too, so there must be some other issue. It's very weird, but doesn't bother me that much, I can just replace the default SBWeatherCelsius.png icon with another.

Re: WinterBoard ("SummerBoard" for 2.0)

Some new updates about stuff mentioned here from me (the author ;P):

1) I now default the icon label text color to white for themes that don't have an Info.plist file (which indicates that you are a new theme and can style these colors yourself). This makes all the old themes work really well.
2) You can actually arbitrary change the colors and fonts of these labels by using the Info.plist, see Nature for an example (except note the "oolor" typo where "color" should be: I've pushed enough updates today, I'll fix that one tomorrow;P)
3) I fixed the internationalization and localization issues in WinterBoard, so you no longer have to play the crazy tricks you had to do with SummerBoard to theme different languages and you no longer have to do stupid things with Weather: it just works.
4) As promised I have posted the (almost complete, missing info.plist stuff) documentation to http://www.saurik.com/id/9. This includes documentation on how to theme stuff out of .artwork files (the UIImages support).
5) My theme, in fact, turns all navigation bars black using NavigationBarStyle. You can play with other numbers for other effects. I think we might want to let you configure this per application or "from this style to this style" in a remapping mentality. This is just my theme, though. WinterBoard doesn't do anything forcibly or anything dangerously (past the carefully thought out hook into SpringBoard itself).
6) The AppStore thing will be fixed in another new version of WinterBoard so that AppStore applications aren't special-cropped by default (but you will be able to turn it back on in the info.plist file if you want that functionality for some reason). Note that the other.artwork stuff people are doing can be done as part of your theme in winterboard due to UIImages support. You need to theme:

UIImages/AppIconMask.png
UIImages/AppIconOverlay.png
UIImages/AppIconShadow.png

Oh! Does that mean that we can use normal icons for AppStore apps and they will still be the same size?
Anyhow, I'm really satisfied by how well it works now smile

Yes. Put your badge in /Library/Themes/<your theme>/Bundles/com.apple.springboard/ and be sure to name the PNG SBBadgeBG.png

The path of your badge should be:
/Library/Themes/<your theme>/Bundles/com.apple.springboard/SBBadgeBG.png

Cool, thanks.  Is there any other things that can be themed using that method?

Yes you can theme sliders by using the correct name, placed in

/Library/Themes/<your theme>/Bundles/com.apple.TelephonyUI/Proper Slider name

Saurik, after the update to get ride of AppStore resizing icons bigger than 57x57, maybe we can get a way to theme the calendar (like Kate used to in 114)? big_smile

Re: WinterBoard ("SummerBoard" for 2.0)

Does anyone know which files in UIImages control the SMS chat bubbles? I looked it up in the list but there seems to be like 5 sets of different ones.

I'd just hug you for that feature! big_smile Works great but there is a problem: "Music" and "Videos" don't get themed. I just tried it with Spanish, French, German and Portuguese with the same results.
