Re: Time Machine Screensaver
Thank you so much. Such a wonderful, yet obvious idea. As some else mentioned, why didn't Apple think of this? Thanks again.

Originally I was concerned about posting a modified version of Bodysoulspirit's work without his explicit permission, but as it seems much of the work was done by Apple to begin with, I figure it should be okay. I've fixed the stars so they fade smoothly in and don't disappear before they reach the edge of the screen.
Time Machine (Modified)
Enjoy!
much respect! many thanks, it works great, Phoenix1701! ![]()

If I weren't a broke highschool freshman, I would be willing to pay for a purple (think Leopard packaging) variation of this. Is this hard to do in Quartz? If not, I could *attempt* it by myself if someone would be kind enough to point me in the right direction. Otherwise.... please? ![]()

Because I like you guys ![]()
Time Machine: Leopard Package Edition
Be sure to choose "Options" in Screen Saver prefs while this screen saver is selected -- there's an optional addition there that you might like. ![]()

I just noticed a few minor glitches in the bevel for the logo, so I've re-uploaded the archive with a fixed version. If you noticed them and they're bothering you, a re-download will set things right.

Re: Time Machine Screensaver
love it phoenix but just one minor thing is that there is a very light additional blue swirl in apples version... not a major things but if you wanted to be perfect. Regardless great job.
P.S. you may wanna reduce (or change the color of) the orange glow.

+1 for both....
also, the X kind of obscures the vortex a lot. Not that the screensaver isn't flawless. this is just if you felt like going BEYOND perfect..... like, perhaps, stars that match the Time Machine ones.....
seriously, its amazing enough though.

Wow great work from Bodysoulspirit and Phoenix. ![]()
I have modified this to have the real cross star that time machine has,But still the credit goes to the creator. I just edit it the best I can. you can download it at my site. http://www.akbarfoto.com/TMvortex_scrsa … outsun.qtz or http://www.akbarfoto.com/TMvortex_scrsaver-withsun.qtz
There are two version. with and without the sun. I made the one without the sun just for me so it wouldn't burn my screen, thought I share that too.

The edge of the quasar (?) looks cut once it grows a good bit. This is really beautiful though.

Is there any chance you could mod the starts so they stay small like in Time Machine? On a 24-inch iMac they become really pixelish.
