@Dustin, the Apple font is "Myriad Web / Myriad Web Pro", Google it - the two layers you used in the preview psd aren't very convincing, the "P" is a bit weird... lol

I know wink  And I already have Myriad Pro, but Lucida Grande is the font that would most likely be used in the actual growl notification (if ever completed).

Well actually the font should be Helvetica Bold since that's what's used on the iPhone (and it doesn't look bad on screen either) tongue

I was just saying the Growl notification font would most likely be the system font (which, as far as I know, was/is Lucida Grande).  Helvetica would look good tho wink

Oh, and I almost forgot to mention, mattrobs, you did a truly great job of making it look more iPhone-like.  Looking forward to a release, assuming that's what you were planning on doing.

Thanks, Dustin. I hope we're on good terms again. Yes, that's what I plan to do.

The problem people are going to ha e with this one is the fact that the giant "ok" button is missing, which blalances the entire compact look of the pop-up.

Why not just build the OK button into your growl window? It wouldn't function but it would give you the right look.

Also need to get rid of the Dashboard-style "x" in a circle that comes up on the notification when you mouse-over it. All this is great, but can Growl do centre-of-the-screen alerts?

I don't see why not, it does bottom of screen...  and the Bezel theme does middle of screen alerts.

This looks great! I'd love 2 versions. One that comes up in the corner, and one that is centered in the screen as shown here. My only comment is that the border seems a little bit too dark. Great work man. Any way we can get a PSD?

I like 'em all! big_smile
Thanks for sharing guys!

Can anyone offer up an explanation on how to use these with Growl, I'm a total Mac noob...

*whispers* and slightly offtopic, where can you get decent looking skins for Growl?

Re: [Req] iPhone dialog background

These aren't growl styles. They're just mockups. Converting them would take a bit of work. I have looked into it some a while ago but I don't remember exactly what is involved.

and as far as growl styles

http://resexcellence.com/growl/ is good and

http://www.flickr.com/photos/wilson/1398201160/ isn't bad either. I use the niqu growl style mostly.

Re: [Req] iPhone dialog background

I found a blank one somewhere in the iPod's resources. I'll post it probably tomorrow, I'm not at my computer now.

Re: [Req] iPhone dialog background

Thanks Joe!
Pretty weird that Growl skins are so hard to come by, seeing as nearly everyone uses it. I got a HUD skin that's pretty cool, but the graphics could use some polishing *hinthint* smile

Someone should definetly realize the mockups in this thread, they are very nice!

edit: typo

Thanks for the comments! I'm building in 4 different versions in the one growlstyle that's adjusted by the "Priority" drop down.

I don't see why not, it does bottom of screen...  and the Bezel theme does middle of screen alerts.

HTML/CSS-based Growl styles, as I'm doing, can only go in the corners. Bezel, Smoke, Brushed, Music Video are all written in Objective-C/Cocoa, of which I'm illiterate in.

Taken from the iPod's other.artwork file. Use this, it'll be the most official one, while the other ones made here still look great! I really like it in that blue…

I honestly like the other ones better wink
