There is no need to. The Reader.html got replaced by the latest update, you can just redownload the mod and install it again.

Hmm, doesn´t work for me. After restarting Safari only the scrollbar changes, but the background stays the same.
updated safari, installed the reader again (plus an invisible load bar, custom tabs, and the square search box...macthemes rules, btw!), and all is well here...

So far it worked for me and others. So the most obvious answer must be that you're not doing something right here.
Good good work friend. Thanks a lot :)
This looks awesome, but how do you install it? I know how to get to Safari's package contents, but what do I replace? Everything in the resources folder?
Also, sorry for the noob question. The internet just doesn't have much concrete info about reader.
It's actually very straightforward.

You download the file and unzip the content.
Opening the folder that you've unzipped 'Leather Reader', you need to select 3 of the 4 items in this folder: Reader.html, ReaderTexture.jpg and ReaderThumb.png and drag them into the folder called 'Drag and Drop here!'.
You'll be asked to replace the existing files and to enter your password. Do both.

Restart Safari and you're done.
Oh, sweet! I was making it much too complicated  Thanks for the help!
This is a beaut.

One question though - Is there any way to increase the space between images and the text below them? They just seem a little too close.

Done. Redownload please.
That's perfect. Thanks a lot for all your work.
Does anyone have this mod available for download? I've been looking everywhere for it.

No, sorry.
