@padhg the problem is: I carry the HelveticaNeue.ttc source, but the font is UPM in 1000 and also in font03.ttf font02.ttf. The source also want to have 1000 of UPM, wanting to replace the characters with the command Ctrl + alt + v I get an error that the size of the UPM is different that's why you can not replace the characters, but all 3 have 1000 UPM then what may be the solution?
@ikOteRoS i've never had this error, i just would always change the UPM under the metrics and make sure to check the box to scale the glyphs per guarav's guide. if you're using the original font (never copy from another Helvetica/HelveticaNeue) then i wouldn't know what else to do.
you ported fonts for the normal, bold, italic, and bold italic .ttfs? most of the time application errors are because you forgot one of them... also note that the font packages changed from 4.0 to 4.1 and 4.2.1. make sure you're extracting the right .ttc for your own iOS version.
i'm just saying that more fonts were added to the HelveticaNeue.ttc in 4.1, so you may need to unpack the original TTC from your device instead of downloading my font pack a few pages back. any app that depends on the new fonts would crash if they're missing.
i can only guess you didn't re-pack your ported font TTF's or you happened to put the old TTC file back on the device. you're replacing the original font; if you're still seeing the original Helvetica or HelveticaNeue, then it'd be an issue with the port.
after using these instructions (and the instructions in post #112) to convert a font. my phone won't boot. i'm pretty sure i can go in and manually change the font file, but any idea as to why this is happening?
yes, i was able to use the backed up helvetica file for 4.2.1 to replace the font i created and it will now boot. so...that's good news. but what could i be doing wrong? i followed the instructions step by step. the font even opens on my mac with no issues and looks perfect. i'm clueless.
the packed .TTC files have changed from 4.0 to 4.1 and again in 4.2.1, you need to be using the source .TTC file for the version of iOS you're using when doing the port. take careful note that the "templates" provided were from 4.0. for later versions you'll need to unpack/port/repack the file from scratch using the same process.
