To those who jumped the gun and installed without backing up, you can download my backup of the Menu Extras folder here. I don't know if it matters, but I run a 1st gen Intel iMac so laptop users may have a menu extra or something I don't.

That didn't exactly work, but I've found out why and fixed it. To back up the Menu Extras I originally just renamed the Menu Extras folder where it was, then let your installer recreate it. But the installer is meant to just overwrite the necessary pdfs, and doesn't also include the info.plist (and version.plist) that reside in the original Menu Extras items. After copying my backup um, back, then installing, it worked fine. I must remember to copy then rename. Or rather copy, rename, and not delete original.
Anyway, it works quite well now. :thumbsup:
