This is a re-release of my old port of Kris Mendoza's lock screen theme, Nobelis. Permission has been granted, as mentioned in the old thread.

The reason I'm re-releasing this is because I wasn't satisfied at all with my previous attempt and wanted to design a lock screen theme using all the elements that are generally lacking. As such, Nobelis HD themes almost every single LS element, including tethering images, passcode lock stuff, iPod controls, status bar, etc. Many people have complained about the power off slider bar, as well as various other images not looking right when themed - I cannot do anything about this, so don't ask me. Apple has changed the way certain images are handled in iOS5 and there's simply no way I can make everything perfect without screwing something else up. This is as good as I can make this theme, unless someone else figures out an alternative solution.

I want to give credit to Kris, of course, and also to dageek (@tehh4ck3r on Twitter) for his very generous help with figuring out all the image names and locations, as well as doing a very brief beta test. Thank you very much! This work is very pleasing to me.

This has only been tested on iOS 5.0 and I do not plan on updating this or releasing it for other firmwares. You are free to re-name and re-package the images for other firmwares, but please give credit & a link back to me if you post it somewhere else. Enjoy!

Hey looks great, but I found one bug. When you gets a phone call and when you wanna change your wallpaper it happens. This is what it looks like.

could someone possibly make me a power off slider so i can mess around with it? it should be possible. i've done it with other themes before.
or maybe you could just make a wider top image for it?
Ok guys I will fix the issue with the camera button glow and add a power off slider, but like I said in my OP, any issues related to the slider bar are not fixable by me! There's literally nothing I can do if Apple decided that it wants to use the same image file for multiple instances. If the bottom bar is the way it is, that means that when it's used as the bar for the power slider, it's going to have that transparent space on top (in iOS5.0 there is no longer a topbarbkgnd@2x.png image, which used to control the top bar image) Since Apple decided that it wants to use the slider bar for all the bars in its UI, I can't fix the fact that the buttons will be floating above it. Unfortunately that's just how it is.

EDIT: Updated first post with new link to theme. Includes properly placed camera button glow and power off slider knob. If you guys don't like the glyph I drew I can re-make it (i'm not crazy about it personally)

Hi,

Just downloaded your updated lockscreen and it looks great! Thank you for your hard work.

Just one quick question, how do I remove the "slide to unlock" text (preferably without a Cydia app), is there a way to do it manually on iOS 5.0.1? (changing strings in a file)?

Thank you very much! This work is very pleasing to me.

I'm honestly not sure. I don't think using SpringBoard.strings does anything anymore, and I haven't been able to figure out an alternative method. BTW, along the lines of what I was saying earlier, it looks like that glow image is also used in iPod app and possibly other places. So there's another problem that I can't fix.
edit strings from iFile, /system/library/coreservies/springboard.app/English.lproj/springboard.strings

remember when removing text in quotes, leave a space.

I tried cervantes' solution and it worked by editing Springboards.string. Thank you!

Thank you, did the trick for me.
Great release!

Thank you! So editing .strings directly works, but not through wb? Weird.

There may be a tweak for it in Cydia. Personally, I never use it. If I need to reboot, it's for a DFU restore, so I just hard reset, and anything else I do with SBSettings Power toggle. Not sure why people are so concerned about it - do you really power off your phones that often? In any event, I really do wish that I could make the LS perfect, but unless Apple reverts back to pre-iOS5 and changes their images back to normal, I can't :(

EDIT: Updated main download link with proper label removal, including Slide to Answer. Credit for fix goes to chinom01 (I think).

The fix isn't working on 5.0.1, I've got iPhone 4
But a great lockscreen theme though!
thanks
Can anyone confirm that the strings fix doesn't work on 5.0.1? I'm on 5.0 and everything is working fine including the slide to answer string. I will be updating to .1 ASAP and will most likely update this then.
To make it work on 5.0.1...rename the English.lproj folder to en.lproj

The package in the download link should have both an English.lproj and an en.lproj folder, donut should work on both 5.0 and 5.0.1 I believe. Anyone having problems, try re-downloading the theme
A few things that I have found... [5.0.1]

1) When you go into Settings -> Wallpaper, The slider background appears:

2) No "quick camera"?

Other than that, very slick LS!

1) Has already been discussed to death in the thread. This has nothing to do with Nobelis
2) What is quick camera? Your image doesn't show me anything
