MS Extension SnowCover 1.1(Update)

Hi guys,

over the last few days I was working on a little Mobile Substrate
Extension
to display the cover-art on the Lockscreen in a different way.

Current available Themes:

for 1.1:
Vinyl Touch by Thyraz     post #1
slice by fer-shirley     post #500
Big ol Vinyl by webdiod     post ##625
CD Casel by Theshizz000     post ##661

for 2.0:
Dark Wood by pixel-art     post #436
Pink Flower by pixel-art     post #442

I will collect the other themes in this thread in the first post with
credits to the artists for an easier overview. Please give me permissions to post it here. Also mention a name and the post number smile *Im to busy and to lazy to list them here. If someone does the code for me and send me text, ill copy paste it in this post smile*

1.1 (The *Lite* version of it)
---------------------------

Changelog for 1.1:
Back to the roots, for less memory usage and a better usability.
- Like Version 1.0 but with Cover Overlay
- Set the size and the position for the Album in a new plist.
- Seperated Theme and Extension in two Downloads
---------------------------

Preview:
http://droplr.com/2f15v+

Credits to Thyraz, he created the "Vinyl Touch" cover-artwork
displayed above.
Download the theme from here here
and place it in /Library/Themes/ on your device

Installation:
Manually Installation only at the moment.
- Download the package from here
- extract the zip file
- copy the dylib to /Library/Mobile Substrate/DynamicLibraries/
on your device (delete the old one first if you're upgrading)
- activate a SnowCover theme in Winterboard and respring.

Modding:
Inside a theme the following files need to be placed inside /Bundles/
com.apple.springboard

- SCCoverBG.png is the Lockscreen Background used while the Extension
is visible.
- SCCoverFrame.png is the cover itself, displayed behind the iTunes
Album Artwork.
- SCCoverOverlay.png is a image that is displayed above the Album-
Artwork, so it matches your Cover-Style in a better way.

- com.gi-lo.SnowCover.plist controls the size and position ov the
cover artwork.
4 keys inside are needed:
* CoverWidth
* CoverHeight
* CoverX
* CoverY
Or simply copy the file from the sample theme and edit it to your needs.

More:

A little suggestion:
As you can see, this fits very nicely with the Tenuitas Lockscreen
made by iAndrew. wink

2.0 (The powerfull Version of it )

Changelog for 2.0:
It's now way more like Coversutra/Bowtie. smile

- double-tap the homebutton for a (nice tongue) slideout animation and
integrated controls (see new preview)
- the view keeps active when a song without cover is played
- added cover overlay image
- new images to theme the animated stuff and the "NoCover" view.
- limited 3.0 support: CoverArt Display works, the new animation and
controls won't

Installation:
Manually Installation or get on macciti source via cydia.

- Download the package from here
- extract the zip file
- copy the dylib to /Library/Mobile Substrate/DynamicLibraries/
on your device
- copy the theme folder to /Library/Themes/ on your device
- activate the theme in Winterboard and respring.

Modding:

- SCCoverBG.png is the Lockscreen Background used while the Extension
   is visible.
- SCCoverFrame.png is the cover itself, displayed behind the iTunes
   Album Artwork.
- SCPaperSleave.png is the transparent inner part of the cover, which
also get the controls overlayed in expanded view.
- SCDisk.png is the disc, which also moves the right when expanded
   through double-tap.
- SCCoverOverlay.png is a image that is displayed above the Album-
Artwork, so it matches your Cover-Style in a better way.
- SCPlay.png / SCPause.png / SCNext.png / SCPrev.png are the Images
for the music control-buttons. (Only visible in expanded view).

The cover will be placed on it at 85px(X),165px(Y) and has a size of
150x150px

Looks fantastic, been waiting for this after seeing a few WIP images. The default one really annoys me. Great work by Thyraz on the graphics too - very polished.

Nice job guys. smile_thumbup

Works with both Lockinfo Options for me:
Overlay Cover Art and hidden LockInfo when playing music.

edit: for the Wallpaper, it's from kol.
http://-kol.deviantart.com/art/Bokeh-116165739
The iPhone version is also in his deviantart package.

Re: MS Extension SnowCover 1.1(Update)

It's not working for me smile_cry

I've got LockInfo installed, tried both options Thyraz said worked for him, then disabled it in sbsettings, still nothing sad

I'm rebooting now, will update.

edit: reboot did not solve. smile_worried anyone else having a problem?

Re: MS Extension SnowCover 1.1(Update)

That's not a setting with that name.

It's just the opposite of "Overlay Album Art".

So simply turn it off for this "feature". wink

Re: MS Extension SnowCover 1.1(Update)

If you could add an overlay image setting (and possible a custom size/position setting), I'd use this

An overlay image setting would make this extension perfect IMHO.

By the way, i'm using it along with LockInfo without any problems.

Thanks again for your amazing work smile_thumbup

Yay, Bowtie for iPhone big_smile

Edit: It... doesn't... work? I've copied the files at the right places and rebooted my iPod Touch 1G, and it still doesn't work sad

What could be the problem? FW is 3.0

What does this really do? Does it display random cover arts from the iPod albums? And how's the performance? Does it use much RAM? Battery?
