[Icons] CS Folio Style (UPDATED)

Thanks all for the constructive feedback. I've posted the final update to these over on DA and a new preview below.  I am really happy with how these finally turned out.  There 3 icon formats with 3 image sizes in each (256, 128 and 16 pixel) and each size is unique.  Originally these were inspired by the cool Adobe "folio-style" icons that come with the apps.  I thought I'd try to do a similar kind of folio-style, something I could share.  Check out the full resolution preview and then click the image to go to the download.

(Format: 256, 128 & 16 pixel, ICO, ICNS & icontainer, PNGs included)

I like them. What about doing system folder replacements in the same style?

Re: [Icons] CS Folio Style (UPDATED)

I would love just a cs4 icon like this. After using it for a day it seems more like a folder cool

I like the idea, but i think you should make the border stroke's a lot less thick

I added a Cs generic "master suite" looking folio.  I agree, more folder than app feeling.

Stroke's a bit thick and it could use some texture. But nice nonetheless. smile_thumbup

Re: [Icons] CS Folio Style (UPDATED)

Thanks all for the constructive feedback.  Here's what I am working on, some small changes that take everything into account with a few new twists too.  You'll see some subtle textures, a more refined stroke, and some soft highlight/shadows to add a little realism.  But is it better?

Mod (left) ............................................................. Original (right)

(texture, gradient letters, 1px stroke, reduced
shadows, inner highlight strokes, articulated strings)

The thinner stroke looks much better. But I don't think the texture you've added works. Maybe more of a leather type texture?

cool, you could also make archive icons (zip, rar, etc...) with this idea!

Check on the texture, good idea.

Ooohhh, I like that idea too!  I've got a decent zipper glyph I can use.

Re: [Icons] CS Folio Style (UPDATED)

very nice.  since you're asking though, the 'buttons' the twine wraps around look like they're floating, shadow distance is too big.
if you want this moved to WIP since it seems to be evolving, just PM the staff.

Re: [Icons] CS Folio Style (UPDATED)

Here's what I have ended up with taking all the positive feedback into account.  The leather texture feels good to me, great idea, I have kept it very subtle.  I finally got the outer stroke right, that took a lot of work.  Drop shadows and bevels now indicate a more appropriate thickness and I am happy with the string articulation.
