Re: [Icon] MacBook

Beautiful icon, Gloss.  Love it. smile

And as a warning to anyone who posts after me, this is NOT a cutout.  If you accuse him of doing a cutout like was done with the iMac icon, you will see yourself getting a week ban.  You have been warned.

The icon is perfect, although I don't like the design of the new MacBook. Looks so cheep.

Re: [Icon] MacBook

The bottom left hand corner of the front looks kinda funny in my eyes, but still, great icon!

PS. The preview makes it seem like it's cut in half when it actually isn't, making the iSight and everything else in the middle appear out of alignment.

Re: [Icon] MacBook

Nice work Gloss, you should fix the bottom: there is a reflection and a drop shadow, i would pick just one of them..

Off topic:
@Josh J no one was talking about that it is a cut out, you are playing the mod role too serious.

Re: [Icon] MacBook

I've been following Gloss' releases and he often were accused of releasing cutouts, so that's why I think Josh J interveened before one of those comments pops up smile

Re: [Icon] MacBook

im sure it's not a cutout, but I don't see the point of releasing 512 px only icons, and I don't see the point to rush the releases just to be the first one.
I don't see attention for detail at all, but Im tired to say these things, I tried before to make this critique to make him improve, but I guess he doesn't want to, so from now on I won't comment anymore.

Just a question: anyone ever used one of these icons?
Im out of here..

Nice to see some Mod protection smile
And I think it is a very nice icon. Who cares if we don't all use it. We appreciate to effort and the final outcome.

no, nobody would really ever use this, which is why there arent smaller versions.

also i think the gloss gradient is way to strong.

There isn't a gloss gradient...

What you see is actually how the new MacBook is.  That is the bottom casing.

Re: [Icon] MacBook

The shadow is way to hard and not even enough
The reflection looks weird
The "rubbery" bottom-casing looks way to defined. On the real mb's it's way more subtle.
The screws also looks really flat and not as realistic as they could.

Harsh! lol

Kidding lol...but for the OP, nice job again. Like Niclas mentioned, there are some shortcomings, but this is another solid release. smile

Re: [Icon] MacBook

So much truth in here.

So yeah, Gloss, try not always to be the first to do an icon for a new Apple product just because you can. For the most part, your icons (made this way – rushed) really look half-assed. smile_thumbup
