[Icon Set] A Better Leopard
I've been working on this set for a while, and I thought I'd finally share it with you all. It was originally going to be a full system-replacement set, but I just don't have the time for that. I'll be releasing the other app icons and such over the next month or so.
Download
The download includes two iContainers, mac icons of the folders, ICOs of the files, and the DIY. If you make any folders on your own, please post them here. They are not to be released elsewhere, except for another thread I post on any other forum.
Enjoy! ![]()
Erm... Woops. I thought I used my Avalon glyphs when I made this set, when in fact, I used Laurent Baumann's wonderful glyphs. Thanks a ton Laurent, I'm updating my site and the download with credit.

Re: [Icon Set] A Better Leopard
Just so you know, your site is damned annoying telling me I am running a substandard browser. Firefox 3.5 is not "substandard". All you're going to do with that stupid warning is make people leave who would otherwise use your site. I was going to download this but the annoyance of that message was enough to change my mind on that.
grow up and please stay on topic

Agreed, in fact, a lot of us think Safari 4 is pretty "substandard" in many ways.

Re: [Icon Set] A Better Leopard
While the featureset may be sub-standard, at least it does not misread simple margin css. 60% of my hits come from Safari, 31% from Firefox. I tried to fix the issues in Firefox, but to be honest, it's not worth it. You can continue on through the site if you'd like, it does give you that option. I have changed the message, if that helps.
This thread is for the icons, not the site.

I believe they are talking about your stupid warning.
Just get rid of it. No one is going to open up or install a separate browser just because your site said to. 2 out of every 5 users to your site gets hit with that annoyance. Just do away with it. It does no good and there are no alignment problems at all in Firefox from what I could see earlier.
User satisfaction and experience is a thousand times more important than how the site looks anyway.

I'm so tired of this nerd rage from ungrateful, whining idiots. Use another browser or gtfo. Wil worked hard on this and you guys can't even keep it civil.

... no one is being "uncivil." He doesn't have to change it, but it is a good idea. If it's that hard for him (and you) to ignore criticism, then this clearly isn't the place to be.
Ah wait, I now see the "you suck" comment. But I'm talking about the Firefox thing.

Way to have a flame war on a release thread, a-holes. All of you: get a life.

Wow, there are some incredibly ungrateful people here. And seriously guys, it's one pop-up. It's not the end of the world. It's one button click and it's gone, forgotten. Get over yourselves.
Oh and btw - nice icons Wil, thanks for the DIY kit ![]()

Back on topic. Firstly, the reason behind us designers getting annoyed is NOT STAYING ON TOPIC in the release threads. PM him if you have a problem with his website not supporting your browser preference. It's obviously not his. One more off topic post will get banned. I'm over all the incompetence. And now that I finally have my MBP back, I'm gonna be able to watch much closer.

Now, you said it once, no need to do it twice, its just a damn pop up, its not going to kill you or even MAKING you to download Safari. No need to argue all over again, if you think its annoying the crap out of you, then don't visit it. No one asked you to visit it or making you to, so I suggest you shut your trap already. People work hard to make such good websites with really cool effect. Its like me coming out of now where: "HAY! CHEWR DESIGN SUX AND I DONT LIEK!!! CHEW SUK NOOB!". Yea, so if you think your going to flame people on your critic, then keep it to yourself, or talk it over IM or Personal messages.
ANYWHO. Back on topic.
I love the icons.
Really cool, I would use them on my MacBook when I get it. ![]()
