[REQ} Snow Leopard Expose glow

Has anyone made any progress on finding a way to change the ugly glow color in the new expose?

It's pretty easy I think, it's in the dock.app

I'll try, wait a couple of minutes.

Re: [REQ} Snow Leopard Expose glow

Yep, got to:
System/Library/CoreServices/Dock.app
(right click: show package contents)
then Contents/Resources
The images are: expose-window-selection-big.png for normal windows and: expose-window-selection-small.png for minimized windows.

Having the image the same size and making the visible part smaller reduces the size of the highlight and the other way around.

Anyone got a good idea on what to change it to?

I changed it to gray to match the overall look of the icons on my system (still awaiting iLeopard for SL)

I think, imho, that the best is a mod that just add a blur effect with no color. Don't know if i've explained my self well smile

Maybe making a clear png, or at least a near-transparent white would do what you want. I'd try it myself but i dont have an actual mac around right now and i dont feel like installing SL on my hac quite yet.

Yeah maybe your view is much more perfect than mine. I'm not a designer or something like that, so just have ideas and nothing more smile

I just made mine a 16x16px blue image.  It's simpe, doesn't look blurry, and gets the job done.

That isn't possible, you can't embed blur into an image (although that would be awesome)

I made mine black, looks like a shadow tongue

It would, but it would be very hard to see. Even my black color is hard to see as the screen dims.

It's a Core...something.  Can't remember the full name.  It has to be applied by a program.  An image can't do that.

I tried replacing the glow by making it black, but it's still blue. I even deleted the blue glows. What's going on?

Re: [REQ} Snow Leopard Expose glow

Hey guys.

Im new at this forum, but im realy excited about modding the new cat;)

I've made a new glow to exposé myself.

Its basically just the original in white with only 50% oppacity.

Hope you like;)

Re: [REQ} Snow Leopard Expose glow

Yeah, this needs to be modded. I wanted some borders that match the rest of Snow Leo's Exposé border stuff, like the context menus ~~ so I came up with this. ^^

You need to restart your dock.app

either open terminal and type: killall Dock (then press enter)

or log out and then login.
