[GriP Theme] Double Height Status Bar

beatoven asked me to do this, ask and you shall receive wink

hot off the press here it is, the images look like crap because 3.0 screenshots come out as jpg, but obviously it doesn't actually look like that, the ignored action is triggered after 5 seconds of inactivity

http://iphone-quickreply.googlecode.com/svn/files/DH1.jpg

So far, I think there's a way to get different colors but not sure, and I'm working on making the time display the title of the alert, right now though it can only display the detailed message. Try it out though and shout out your feature requests and I'll see what I can do about it. I don't intend to support this forever though because I have little use for GriP but using this theme it actually seems functional.

SMS Extension

Download link /\, dpkg -i DoubleHeight_b1.1.deb to install, enjoy big_smile
EMPHASIS: It's still beta and wasn't meant to be more than a proof of concept release.

P.S. O and those who still want QuickReply back, It's been put on delay, the new ChatKit framework is a tricky bananas. AAAAAAH!! BANANAS!!!    (censoring on the internet is not cool, i don't care how much you want to make your forums respectful or whatever)..., I have a lot on my plate at the same time...

Could you maybe make those statusbars black - matte ? That would probably let it look much better big_smilesmile_thumbup

Re: [GriP Theme] Double Height Status Bar

Right now It's programatically colored, I think I know a way though but I'll have to talk to saurik if this were to be themeable by winterboard, right now it isn't because it doesn't use any file to get it's colored.  Also I know the color and the glow are seperate so if I were to figure out the color it won't affect the glow, that can be put on top of it anyway or not.

This is great, good work smile

Is there anyway you can control the behaviour of this, like being able to expand the notification or make it sticky? Also multiple messages don't display, say if you two in a short space of time

Possible, but right now it display's all that GriP gives out for the detailed part of the message, not the title, so if GriP isn't giving detail formatted like that then I'd have to modify that extension, SMS extension is simple enough I'll take a look.

This is really great work, xshad0w. When GriP is released on Cydia it should definitely be bundled with the package.

Re: [GriP Theme] Double Height Status Bar

I like it, but I don't like how the alert dismissed after a couple of seconds. I like how on the default theme the window stays up until you click out of it. Any possibility you can make one that shows up on the lockscreen and is there until dismissed??? Thanks!

Re: [GriP Theme] Double Height Status Bar

One problem, thought. Push notifications won't show on the lockscreen you just get the sound. Default theme works on the lockscreen but Double Height does not. sad

Yeah, also noticed that.

So, if you receive something, but don't unlock the device fast enough,
you won't see the notification anymore.

Yep, was just noticing the same sad

Thyraz, if someone managed to acess Grip´s log from outside Grip´s settings, you would have the problem solved...you could then see all the latest messages

We need this badly!! Even a springboard icon would be great for this... one touch and see the message log.  Just like Prowl.  SBSettings toggle would be ideal of course wink I hope someone can do this.

Re: [GriP Theme] Double Height Status Bar

I would prefer to open something like the message log by tapping on the red bar.

Then choosing a message of the log opens the according app.

Re: [GriP Theme] Double Height Status Bar

Although the concept is great, it lacks in features and the actual customization of GRiP just isnt there, maybe in a future release it will be worth using !

Re: [GriP Theme] Double Height Status Bar

I disagree. Even at its current beta state it is much much better than iphone´s current archaic notifications system

It just needs to be officially released on Cydia (even on beta), and see more people working with it besides the dev, like xshad0w did

Right now only a minority knows about it

Really a problem for me is the short time it stays on screen

You can change that on settings
