Hey, thank you very much for your feedback! Very appreciated and encouraging 
I will do some colour variants, and yes I'm also trying to make some more icons in this style but I'm not satisfied with the results so far, feels like I'm getting nowhere 
(here's an example)

It looks good, but one remark. Your folder has two tabs if you may call them like that (the bulbs on top). A folder has only one tab. I think it looks even better if you remove the front tab.

I actually tried! And didn't like what was coming out... but yes you're right, real analogic folders have just one tab

Very nice!
I'd prefer only be a tab in the back of the folder.
The glyphs on the folders need to have a bit more contrast to see them.
One of the big complaints about Apple's Leopard folder redesign: they all looked pretty much the same without colored or contrasting folder glyphs. Shape and/or color variations make icon identification MUCH quicker and more accurate.
How about lighter variations...
maybe stainless steel. cast aluminum. copper with a patina.
