[Theme] Gruppled LockInfo (Formerly "Tea LockInfo")

Do NOT email me with questions about this theme; I will just ignore you, especially if you're asking about problems with a version modified by someone other than me. You can search this thread using Google - just paste this in the search bar with whatever you want to search for:
site:http://macthemes2.net/ "[Theme] Gruppled LockInfo"

ATTENTION: THIS THEME REQUIRES THE LOCKSCREEN INFO EXTENSION from the Cydia source http://david.ashman.com/beta. You do NOT need to enable (and probably should not enable) the default LockInfo theme in Winterboard.

To hide the default clock, i recommend Stimpy's "Lockscreen Clock Hide" tweak from the Cydia source http://david.ashman.com/apt.  This also adds a "Clock Hide" section in the Preferences app.  Be sure to check it out.

For a detailed guide that will probably answer your questions, go here.
Thanks to GilbertMark for writing this!

I added LockInfo stuff to my Tea Time-Lapse theme, which changes throughout the day, to reflect the time of day.  It achieves a slow, continuous blend by layering two of the eight images, with the top image slowly changing in opacity.

I started with this theme and totally recoded a bunch of stuff, cleaned up a bunch of code, including the weather script, added several features, and revamped existing and created new images.  You can expand/collapse sections and subsections (calendar days, mail accounts, and sms messages), collapse/uncollapse everything (or hide/unhide everything except the clock) using configurable horizontal swipe gestures, with optional animation (using the built-in CSS animation system).

To configure the theme (for now) edit the file Gruppled LockInfo.theme/Bundles/com.ashman.LockInfo/config.js

The following things are configurable:
- Custom clock (with optional monthly calendar)
- Animation (specify duration or disable animation)
- Language (in progress)
- Date and time formats (found in localization file, uses PHP date() syntax)
- Section order and disabling
- Default collapsing of sections
- Multiple weather locations
- Several other things

Now that LockInfo works with other Winterboard lockscreen themes, there is no need for a separate Tea LockInfo theme to combine lockinfo with the Tea theme.  Simply install Gruppled LockInfo and Tea LockBackground and enable them both in Winterboard.
Note: This requires LockInfo version 1.0.46 or later.

You can find Gruppled LockInfo, Gruppled Art (contains the unlock slider shown below), and Tea LockBackground here:

Note:
Please do not fill this thread with questions related to CSS customization.  I do not have time to teach everyone CSS.  There is plenty of relevant information available all over the Web.  If you absolutely cannot figure out how to change something, please make your question very specific.

Re: [Theme] Gruppled LockInfo (Formerly "Tea LockInfo")

Thanks for the feedback!  Since I don't have an iPhone, I haven't tested the iPhone-only stuff.  I pretty much left that stuff alone other than minor display changes, so unless I've made a typo, it should work just like the theme I based this one on.

An iPhone emulator would be very helpful here, since I have no way to debug this stuff at the moment.  I'll take a look at the SMS update function.  Is that the only thing you've found to be broken?

P.S. The SMS limit is set to 0 by default (I just fixed this silly oversight), as well as call and voicemail limits.  I'm guessing you changed them...?

Actually, i did not change the limits.  I changed them and it works correctly now.

Great looking theme.

One more thing though, the description for the weather is all in lowercase, how can I change that?

Thanks

Great work so far!!

There is a conflict with your weather showing up.. I haven't tracked it down yet but just wanted to let you know. Yahoo didn't load/show up at all on the lockscreen.

Would it also be possible to get a version with the rotating walls removed or better yet have it set to a static Wallpaper.png?

Have you thought about adding a Tap to Unlock mini-bar to help with the space issue? You may also want to look at Multibar LockInfo and how Douwe did his time and date to save space as well.

Yeah Can we have one just transparent (no walls) like other themes? Everything is really great besides that.

Thanks, glad you like it!

The first letter is capitalized now.  For the record, I modified the lockinfo.js and weather.js files, as well as the LockBackground.html file.  So just re-download and update those three files.

Ok, here's a copy with all the wallpaper stuff stripped out.  I'm also adding a link to this file to the original post.

Hmm...I didn't test the Yahoo source, but I assumed it worked since it came with the original weather script.  Does it work with the AccuWeather source?  I've noticed that sometimes it doesn't load right away, and still other times it doesn't load at all unless you unlock/lock it again.

I will probably add a custom unlock bar (but not a tap bar because five seconds is not usually long enough to do anything...unless you know of a way to change this time limit without IntelliScreen?).  As for the clock, I doubt most people will be willing to go through the trouble of messing with that; I haven't.  I considered it, but personally, I like having a huge clock there.  It's handy.

The AccuWeather source works, I'll try Yahoo again tomorrow and report back.

There is an add-on from the Big Boss repo that allows your lockscreen to be active for 20 seconds. Very Handy!

As for the clock and date, there are PLENTY of members that are requesting the clock/date bar being added to a LockInfo theme just like yours. I would HIGHLY recommend doing a version like this if at all possible. I promise you that you'll become a super-star overnight if you do.

Haha!  Ok, you've talked me into it.  Right now, i'm working on a custom slider.  I'll make an optional clock bar sometime this week.

I haven't  had any luck with the Yahoo source either.  The AccuWeather sometimes doesn't load or is very slow in loading.

Thanks for the tip regarding the add-on for the 20 sec lockscreen.  Very handy indeed.

I agree on the clock/date bar.

Re: [Theme] Gruppled LockInfo (Formerly "Tea LockInfo")

Ok, I updated both weather source files from the original theme, but unfortunately, I can't seem to get either one to work right now.  However, I'm not the one maintaining the weather code, so there's not much I can do about it.

I made a custom unlock slider inspired by the Minimal Lockscreen theme.  It's mostly transparent, so that should give you a little more room.  I will work on the custom clock when I have time.  The screenshot in the original post should be updated.  If it's not, try refreshing.  Both download links are also up-to-date.

Re: [Theme] Gruppled LockInfo (Formerly "Tea LockInfo")

Wow, thank you so much! i downloaded and installed yesterday on my iphone and my boyfriends ipod.

I noticed that you updated the unlock which is very nice, but would you consider a tiny bar (like the headers) with a lock icon on it.. just to follow along with the theme?

I might have a go later, but i must get on with studying lol. there was something else i wanted to mention/ask but i can't remember!

anyways great work!

i'm gonna go make a cuppa n study tongue

You mean at the bottom, beneath the unlock slider?

Re: [Theme] Gruppled LockInfo (Formerly "Tea LockInfo")

I replaced the "updated" AccuWeather source with the one I was using originally, and then noticed that the config file was missing semicolons.  Now AccuWeather works again, but I haven't tried Yahoo.  The download links are up-to-date.

Re: [Theme] Gruppled LockInfo (Formerly "Tea LockInfo")

Another quick update:
- Added a shadow below the last item
- Weather descriptions are now in Title Case
- Weather errors are displayed correctly (which leads me to believe there's a JavaScript-related error in the Yahoo source since it doesn't even display an error)

I mean at the bottom instead of the slider. To be honest I'm not used to tap to unlock but I think to match in well with the whole theme it would look better.

Its just an idea, but I will probably have a go myself if no one else wants it lol.

Re: [Theme] Gruppled LockInfo (Formerly "Tea LockInfo")

I replaced the shadow images with slightly more interesting versions and fixed a few trivial mistakes.  I also replaced the call and unlock sliders with a tab-like unlock button, as suggested by Dave-o.  If you liked the other sliders, you can find them in the Gruppled Art package mentioned in the first post, or found on the website listed in my profile.

Very nice theme, I like it a lot! Though i have a few problems; I still see the text "slide to unlock" (and "answer" etc.) and anything other than Clock+Weather are not showing. I've changed the limits in the .js file, but that didn't work. Is there anything I've overlooked?

Re: [Theme] Gruppled LockInfo (Formerly "Tea LockInfo")

Rename (or copy) the folder (theme)/Bundles/com.apple.springboard/en.lproj/ to your country code if it's not EN.  If it is, you might have another theme overriding the strings file.  Just put this theme on top in Winterboard.

As for the calendar and other things showing up, I'm not sure what to tell you.  They work for me and others.  They only show up if there's something to show; otherwise, they're hidden.  I just updated the packages, so try redownloading it/them (i fixed a minor bug with calculating the relative time).

First thing worked; i didn't know i had to change it.

Well it's weird, i have 1 unread e-mail now and several items in my calendar so i really don't know why it doesn't work. Lock calendar is able to show them though. Weird!
