Magnifique is the free theme manager for OS X designed to give you more for less. Right now I am in the beta testing stages and I need the help of a wider audience for finding bugs and possible problems. Its on feature freeze right now, so no new features will be added between this beta and the final: strictly bug fixes only. The beta testing package comes with:
* Magnifique application
* 10 page Developers Guide
* 4 page Users Guide
* iLeopard (mfq theme file)
* Siro 2.2 (mfq theme file)
* Umaso (mfq theme file)
* Veritas Public Beta (mfq theme file)
Downloads:
Disinmaso (Need iTunes 8 for Custom theme)
Milk
Metal Muku
MACTHEMES EXCLUSIVE
Black Mac OS X (mfq theme file)
Mac OS X 10.5 is REQUIRED. Download the beta package here:

Re: [APP] Magnifique Theme Manager Public Beta
Yes… tested…
Pop-up when removing a theme are annoying… and useless…
Opening full preview with Preview.app ! Why ?!
Why not using the default image viewer chosen by the user ?
Use/implement keystrokes.Why not Cmd+I to see information of the highlighted theme ?
I hate to have to click on buttons…
Also, it could be a great app…

Currently testing it out right now. Going pretty well so far; installing iLeopard as we speak. Hoping this may be the be-all end-all of theme installer apps!

Double post: Worked fine for me so far. Don't have much time to carry out a full strip-down test, but so far all works as it should.

Actually, me and pcwiz made this
(But mostly him, I really only came up with the ideas, the terminal commands and some of how the app will operate, he coded it and had awesome suggestions.)
We would need permission for a metal muku, Ill see what I can do ![]()

Re: [APP] Magnifique Theme Manager Public Beta
Very nice app! Well done ![]()
In case you're looking for bugs, when you click "Theme info" with no theme selected, it gives you an Applescript Error. The error message itself is accurate, but for some reason the message ends with "(-2700)"
Also, this is more of a personal preference thing, but I think it would be nice if "view full preview" looked like a button even before you mouse over it. Otherwise it's a little easy to miss it.
Thanks again for the great app
, and I hope you don't mind my constructive criticism...

Re: [APP] Magnifique Theme Manager Public Beta
love it, but will it have itunes compatibility at some point, and also perhaps a more unified and clearer approach to the theme preview eg, just show a set including scrollbars, windows, buttons, and extras, same for each theme, instead of screenshots.

Re: [APP] Magnifique Theme Manager Public Beta
All your bugs and suggestions have been duley noted ![]()
But heres a couple of features, incase you didn't know:
1) iTunes Compatibility is already put in for themes who have it enabled customly with a script and the file. (View developer documentation)
2) The preview is whatever the author puts, I suggest they use the app "Showcase" for their preview
3) Making the view full theme button is in consideration ![]()
Hope this helped!

Re: [APP] Magnifique Theme Manager Public Beta
Thanks so much for this great app.
1st, I added it to Official Themes for Leopard Thread (http://macthemes2.net/forum/viewtopic.p … 14#p308214)
Second, I have some theme requests (I know you have to get permission first):
Kaer
KISS Me
Metal Muku
Milk
Snow
Also, I think a finder restart should be automatic after a theme install.
Other than that, thanks so much for this great app that isn't vaporware *cough* facade *cough*

Re: [APP] Magnifique Theme Manager Public Beta
Kaer was denied, already asked for KISS Me and Metal Muku no replies yet.
Ill ask for Milk and snow ![]()
Finder Restart isn't automatic, just incase it breaks your install (beta, remember) so If it does, you can change it back quickly ![]()

Re: [APP] Magnifique Theme Manager Public Beta
This is awesome. Just awesome. It amuses me that 2 guys can put together a decent theme app for free and yet the facade team cant pull it together when they will even make money on it. Granted, this app doesnt have quite the feature set facade is supposed to have, but it is at least something!

Support for PPC? When I press "Theme Info", with a theme selected, i receive "sh: /Applications/Magnifique_Beta/Magnifique.app/Contents/Resources/tree: Bad CPU type in executable (126)".

Re: [APP] Magnifique Theme Manager Public Beta
But, yeah this app looks good, but...what it is the difference with an installer ? ![]()
Yeah managing themes probably but you can have all your installers in a folder in the Finder and boom ! Does this app won't cannibalize installers ? ![]()
Signed, a geek who loves installer, installers FTW !
