Ok, so I stuck up a mod of Nicka's True Vinyl in his thread, and shortly after I decided to make the whole thing myself rather than stick a few new graphics in an existing version. I rewrote everything from the ground up and added a few touches I like I don't know if this means it's a new release or a mod/hybrid, so mods: be gentle.

-One-click show of song info, vinyl and controls (because double clicking is hard work).
-Transparent label cutout in the vinyl. Same JS library as Nicka, but I noticed that in his version the generic vinyl label would flicker every second when there was no artwork so I fixed that.
-If the theme has its vinyl goodness tucked away, a song info popup will appear on track change as well as when you press play after having paused iTunes.
-Does not feature ratings because I just find it annoying -- if someone really wants it, I'll see if I'll add it.

Kudos to Laurent Baumann for the original theme design and Nick den Engelsman (Nicka) for his mod.

UPDATED: Four styles. So far. Now features hiding of track info when "open."

best realistic work on the vinyl, looks great!
but the closure foil of the vinyl does not look as nice as on other vinyl themes.

Ran into a problem,

Can you just take the little design from it out, I don't care for the picture there anyways, gives me problems on every vinyl theme.

ARG please remove that, now its doing this

Hm, that is weird. Must be related to the JavaScript that handles the cutout. Does it happen once in a while or all the time? What version of OS X and Safari are you using? I've updated the zip file with some extra overflows pertaining to the label -- could you download it and see if at least the bottom occurence ceases?

and Im trying it now but the sleeve is greyish now

Edit: Nope disk is still messing up, Id love just a solid version tho

Runs great for me. I guess i do get the greyish sleeve too, but it doesn't bother me at all.

i just re downloaded and still have the problems others are having as well. and yea it happens all the time, not once and awhile.

i'm running 10.5.6 and safari 4.0 (5528.1). i'd really love to use this theme, hope you can fix it

About the grey sleeve... that was sort of a mishap. ALXKRFT complained about the old one so I was fiddling around with a different design and forgot about it when I zipped up the updated file. But while it's here... any thoughts?

alright. iam demandign, and iam full of criticism, but for exchange, iam your beta tester

the halfway version looks just like i was expecting it - awesome. ive got safari 3.2 installed an absolutely no troubles with the css,.

the grey sleeve looks interesting, kind of a textile-fibre, i forgot the name of. but try and add a closure lip-shape. so its not a rectangle.., if you know what iam talking about..

last thing which kinda annoys me are the player controls.
probably you can fit em into the songinfo label.
and probably you can add some function to hide just the song info, while the vinyl still out of the case.

and yeah, before you get upset. a smaller version would be appreciative too. not nano, but like 75%

yeah, i know. i probably have to get into css conding myself. iam gonna take a shot in the holidays!

Updated the first post with previews and links for the four styles. Added in hiding of track info when open; just click the track area and it'll fade out. Click again to display.
