[Bowtie] CD jewelcase (UPDATE) now with tasty ratings!
Credits for this go to CH405 for his work with his CD spinning and Laurent Baumann for his graphics.
and to Jverzier for TypographicBlurred
Basically, I loved the cd spinning theme but wanted to try and put it into a jewelcase.
But then I also wanted the text on the screen in the opposite corner.
This is a full screen, 1440x900, theme. and may not be for everyone. but the nice thing is the themes are easy to mod
The theme also uses FF-DIN as a font. chose that one since it matches the smokestack growl theme
requires safari 4 in order to get the CSS masking i used for the center... though you might have required that anyways for the cd spinning
Darrin
EDIT: I have packaged up the 4 versions that I did in one zip file.
the original: spanning the full screen
a version without the text
a version without the case, and the text appearing next to it
and a nano version of that

Re: [Bowtie] CD jewelcase (UPDATE) now with tasty ratings!
thanks! though the coolest parts go to others, i just put a few things together for my preferences
thats why.... i spaced the text out so that the text was in the top left corner and the case was in the right corner of a 1440x900 screen
on a smaller screen something will be cut off..
I made available just a version with the jewelcase
also what you could do; is to go into the theme file, and edit the top and left positions of the container class in the index file.
I still would like to be able to change the case based upon the media type... perhaps show a DVD case instead. not really needed, but fun

This feature would be really cool if bowtie support it!

Great theme! Love it! I was also curious if anyone has found a way to make the middle invisible like the preview??? Thanks!

I can't see it....it's installed but there is nothing on my desktop...![]()
Nevermind...just had to restart Bowtie...but I have a question...will you be adding controls and artist, album, song name and rating?
Nevermind again! I had to move the Jewel Case down to see the text...not a real fan of that layout...will you make a more subtle version and add controls?

Nicka, was having a issue with that way of doing it... couldnt get it to work, so i went with a CSS mask which does work, but requires safari 4
Case in use

I may do that... I did get a version out with no text for in the meantime, but yes I do have plans to release a version to match the popups of the smokestack growl popup... just havent gotten that far yet ![]()

WOW, I have been asking for this for like 2 days now and out of the blue you create almost exactly what I was looking for!!!!! GREAT WORK!!!!
Any Chance of getting one with a smaller CD, no Case and the text next to the CD?? THAT WOULD BE AWESOME!!!!
something like this
but with your awesome text setup!!!
GREAT STUFF

Oh, I know it works since i can see that you got it working
but i just couldnt merge the 2.. your vinyl theme with the cd... I was doing something wrong. after messing with it for awhile, i finally went with the css mask approach.
any help would be appreciated though

the easiest way do do exactly what you want is to merge themes, the text with the cd nano... i probably wont do too much work with making a smaller cd, BUT: here is a quick mod with the cd, no case, and the text next to it

Re: [Bowtie] CD jewelcase (UPDATE) now with tasty ratings!
my guess is that you arent using safari 4... I am using a css mask of the image currently which isnt supported in ver 3.
I am working of redoing it with the work done by Nicka which hopefully will work in previous versions. will take a bit though, I wasnt able to get it working previously.

Thank you this is awesome ![]()
It is possible to have a bigger version with normaly text up or made for 1680x1050 desk
Other idea for you, if it is possible, to have in animation the cover open and after the cd spin..

Re: [Bowtie] CD jewelcase (UPDATE) now with tasty ratings!
i can try an opening of the case, that would be kinda cool.
I could try to make a version for a bigger desk, but would be working blind. I f you are interested, I could explain exactly what you would need to change to spread the two sections out farther.
though i may see if it is possible to make both sections movable
