Okay Ive begun work on this theme in architect, there are still limitations so ill need to wait for the next release to finish it up and by the looks of things it will require facade to apply

Initial Idea

Anyway current progress

Also it will have 4 variations
the black theme with black buttons in 3 colour schemes
the black theme with white buttons in 3 colour schemes
the white theme with black buttons in 3 colour schemes
the white theme with white buttons in 3 colour schemes

looks nice! very slick and different...

I dont like the words under the caption buttons though- they look a little out of place.

The translucency is beautiful too.

OH NO LOL!!! those words are just showing the status of the buttons, ie regular hover pushed!

I think the different elements don't really go well together. The back/forward buttons feel very different from other buttons. The menubar, windows texture and buttons just don't fit.
I really like your ideas for the widgets and the window texture.

okay ive removed the window texure a bit, it was annoying me should it come back??

also made different colour variations

I say yes this has good potential
the traffic lights look sweet on the mouse-over!

I like it, but agree with PimPamPet. It need some more work. Anyway, good start!

I still don't fully understand the fascination with dark themes.... IMHO they all look like hell and are not user friendly. sorry, i just don't think it's worth the effort.

Look at one of Turn's screenshots and you shall see a great implementation of a dark theme.

I suggest taking a look at some dark themes that have already been made and then taking ideas from what made them look good and transfer that to your own style. This could look great if you are really serious about this.

okay im goin to do a theme soon ive started work already but it will be a light one and also a dark one, well two different themes same theory with them if that makes sense

Looks great so far
I love the dark, translucent menubar and the hints of purple color.
I dislike the pattern on the windows background though, not really my taste... I hope you'll create a clean substyle as well!

I think if the window titlebar was slightly transparent, things would look a whole lot better, and it would be consistent with the menubar too. Nice job so far.

Okay ive made the theme more uniform, glossy, smooth and most impartantly DARK!!

also i mite delay the package by a few months to work on an entire ilife 08, vlc, itunes, quicktime gui suite

sorry this is my first ever mac theme ahaha, maybe im being over ambitious
anyway ill keep trying....
