[App] Showcase

When testing my theme, KISS me, I searched for an application that would show as many elements as possible to find visual bugs but couldn't find it. A little Xcode and some polishing later, I came up with Showcase:

I've been working on an icon for this little app if you would like to take a look. I'll pm it to you and you may use it if you wish.

Re: [App] Showcase

Well, the window resources are there, but yea, it would probably be a good idea to add a toolbar to Showcase, and also add a text inputs sections.

Re: [App] Showcase

ok now i know this would be asking too much but .. i am sure there are available applescripts out there, i can supply them to you if you could integrate them .. to do the following:

1. replace extras2.extras sart.bin (copy original to safe area)
2. restore originals from safe areas (check box for each file that are in the safe area)
3. apply the command that enables the use of the resources in extras
4. logout button (or restart finder or UI if possible?)

number 2 is probably the trickiest one to implement, there are probably easier ways to do it anyway. the rest are basically just automator scripts that are launched when you click on the button so they shouldnt be too hard? right?

I know its asking too much, but i am sure they would be super useful to everyone smile

either way, this is just amazing work on its own .. and thank you for your effort

Re: [App] Showcase

Or maybe when it opens it displays what it looks like with the extras you are using and then maybe an  option to open up an extras.rsrc (or extras2.rsrc) to view what it will look like. That way you don't have to constantly keep changing them to see the updates. That may be difficult to make though.

Re: [App] Showcase

It would appear that with the suggestions you two have made, this would turn out to be some kind of theming app. hmm

Re: [App] Showcase

I think its just fine the way it is, it was originally made for themers looking to catch bugs in their themes.

It does that perfectly well and while turning this into a theming app would be nice its simply not needed as other apps are in development which do just that.

Additionally, I don't have the skills to do it, so it is not happening.

I've uploaded a new version with the icon that Mac Intosh linked to and a toolbar.

Does anyone even mod them? lol

Re: [App] Showcase

@Rion: Did you get permission from iTweek from CocoaGrove.com to use the icon? I just linked to it but I am not sure you can put it in your app until you ask.

It is rare that people mod them, but they are some themes that change the shape of the text entry fields (GAIA for instance)

The website says "Please contact me if you plan to use them for any commercial purpose". neutral

Re: [App] Showcase

Is it possible to add every single UI element? Some stuff like sliders (the ones in Sound prefpane) are missing and horizontal scrollbars and also small scrollbars!wink

Re: [App] Showcase

Yea, I agree we need more sliders and horizontal and small scrollbars. Maybe an improvement to the list headers as well. Be able to press them etc.

Re: [App] Showcase

While you're at it the small streetlight buttons would be nice, and some actually filled in progress bars. Other than that it's great!

Two different sets of widgets ON THE SAME WINDOW would be hard.

Just click Colors. lol

New version is up with what I've added so far: vertical sliders, text field, search field, round button & circular sliders. I'm working on adding, or rather find out how to add, other elements you've mentioned.
