[Theme] Jars

All Stock Icons are included in the zip, third party icons will be posted in this thread as I or others create them. I suggest that you turn off icon labels.
Creating an icon from the template isn't as simple as with most themes, I will outline the steps as best as I can in a new post on this thread (when I get time).

Very nice work. This one isn't for me, but thanks a bunch for doing something that isn't just another agua/stock/text variant! ![]()

I don't change the color values until after i save the icon. All the icons are saved as red, and then i hue shift the liquid portion to whatever color i think fits the icon. I'll list the details in my icon tutorial later tonight.
Just for anyone who decides to make jar icons in the future, the way i lay the glyphs is how they would naturally land if you dropped them into a rounded glass. I want them to "nestle" along the bottom of the icon.
Thanks for making the icons.

Re: [Theme] Jars
I'm not the best writer, so try to follow along here. You'll need to have the jars icon template open, and you'll need a glyph. In this tutorial, I will be making an SMBPrefs icon, using Tollboy's glyph. I've already resized the glyph, and colored it white. (Use the brightness/contrast palette, and turn the brightness all the way up).
Now, switch to the jars icon template. In the layers palette, open the GLYPHS and Music groups. Select the icon that contains the sample glyph. (Named Layer 26 (sorry for not renaming the layers)).
Switch to the document containing your glyph, open it's layer palette, and drag the glyph into the template. It should now be placed one layer above the sample glyph, and should have taken the clipping mask.
Now click and drag the word Effects from Layer 26, to the layer containing your new glyph.
At this point you can hide or delete the sample glyph.
You now need to use the Move Tool to align your image as you see fit. My guidance dictates that you align the glyph in such a way that it would naturally lie if this were a real 3d object. In this demonstration case, the icon (being circle) would settle into the bottom of the jar.
Now it's time to save. Click File > Save for Web & Devices.
Select the Preset PNG-24, and click Save. Name your file correctly, so that it loads in summerboard or facelift. (SMBPrefs.png for example).
If you are making multiple icons, it is easier for me to worry about colors later and make the icons in one batch, so at this point you can move on to your next icon. If you aren't making more than one icon, you can move on to the next step.
Now we will modify the color. Open the icon you just created.
Use the Rectangular Marquee Tool to select only the liquid portion of the image.
Now open the Hue/Saturation palette and use the Hue and Saturation sliders to adjust the color of the liquid.
For SMBPrefs, I decided to go with a granite blue, so I adjusted the sliders as such:
Click File, Save... And that's it.
Here is the completed icon:

Here is an idea that makes you wish it could work. I think it would be awesome if you could have some liquid physics applied to the icons so they sloshed around with the glyps via the accelerometer. It would look so cool when you showed it off.
