I like it, maybe you could move the two buttons on the bottom right side a few pixels to the left.
And rounded corners in the movie window 
Works with German! Great

Yeah, a display change would be nice, other than that...just what I've dreamt of.
If you use the LCDBackgroundCenter.tif and LCDBackgroundLeft.tif from Dustin's Slimtime, change them to PNG and rename center to "display.png" and Left to "display2.png".

I've been wanting to do a mod like this for a while now, but getting the VLC source to compile is a chore -_-'
Anyways, it looks pretty good, but I think the line on the top of the display needs to be darker to give a stronger feeling of depth.

if you want a clean and sharp lcd display don't do this! vlx stretch the pict and it doesn't looks good!
try my qtlcd zip instead

Awesome man!
I'm so glad someone took the time to do this, as I was gonna attempt it, but I'm not gonna lie, VLC's resources are awfully messy. Great job on this!
Although, I have to admit, I would like it more if you used QuickTime's screen, instead of the green one you have going on now.
