Somehow i really like the look of iChat's contact list. I would like adium to look like that aswell, so i have been clicking some buttons in interface builder, and came up with this:

Download the current version

But i can't get the buttons to work. Obviously the + button should add a new contact, and the A button should start a conversation with the selected contact.
But because this is my first time i'm using Interface Builder i'm not even sure if this is possible at all?

Please let me know if you like it so far, and if those buttons could come to life.

Do you really need them? See Philipp's iChat mod .

Well, that mod is for iChat, this mod is for Adium.
But anyways, i had a look at his .nib file, and apparently you're supposed to send an action to the "File's Owner", but Adium doesn't take any actions like that. Probably because it was never made to have buttons in the contact window.

My last option would be a workaround i just came up with:
In the menu shortcut for "Add contact" for the keyboard is Command+D.
Perhaps i can bind that shortcut to the button.

But, any comments on the style itself?

Looks good and something I had been looking forward to have someone try. I've always found that the Adium window always looked just cut off, the bottom makes it look finished.

looks so good. Can you release what you have now? I'd love to have my Adium just look like iChat. The functions don't matter to me.

I also had the same feeling about the bottom of the adium window, so that's why i made this
Let's hope there is some way to get those buttons to work!

And the next project? The chat window

Thanks for uploading the current version but I seem to have a problem with downloading it. After clicking the download link I get an upload process window instead. Can you verify that this is the case also when you download it?

Thanks, works and looks great and looking forward to the message window mod. I don't know if you had noticed the bug with the mouse over selection on your account name? The top part is cut off.

I was unaware of that bug, but you're right, there was some problem there.
I've fixed it now and re-uploaded it

Awesome. I've been missing Metal Adium for quite some time...this should cure me. Can't wait for it's completion.
