Re: [Icon] dark chocolate w/ toffee Candybar

Isnt this just a lesser quality version of Louie's Candybar replacement?

I really don't understand why you keep ripping even if the people tell you that several times, don't you have a bit of shame to do that?

I'm sure if the owner gives a care he will be here speaking for himself. Nice work, I appreciate you sharing don't stop just because you have a hate group. smile_kiss

I don't care if the "owner" gives a  care. The "rip-stick" is just taken out way to often nowdays. Everything is a rip of something. geez.

Normally I would agree. I think people are far too quick on pointing fingers. Inspiration doesn't constitute a rip. But this, I dunno man, it's pretty much exact with a lot less detail. Overlay the two and you'll see... I think all those with the "rip-stick" are warranted on this one...

I don't think that's something you should be proud of. You should show a little more respect, even if you nearly carboncopy an icon, maybe just mention the original author. Sometimes the effort is all people are looking for. A note, a blurb, a link-back, hell, shoot their name down in your post... anything to point people to the original author shows that you care about their work, their feelings, and respect a hell of a lot what they do (for you and the community).

Gloss, man..... what are you doin'??  hmm rippity rip rippin' along!! Grab a hint man. And if your going to blatantly "mod, copy, steal" whatever you want to call it. At least do it well, this icon is not good smile_worried ... really... This crap is getting really tiresome...

Most of your past icons or releases have been rips, this is really a bad practice, if you want any respect around here I suggest you start producing original pieces or contributing positively to the community.

how old are u? are you 3? you just behave like a child, why we all don't just take an icon and mod something and release? 300 candybar icons would be nice, with just 50 different saturation values and hue, then without the "c", etc?

Why don't u ask to yourself "why all these people is saying that?"? I'm amazed from your behaviour..I have no words anymore..

Here's the thing. Yes, Candybar Icons are generally chocolate bars with "different flavors", but you have taken the style and and similar typeface of someone's "original" design, labelling it your own. Thats the problem. If you had tried adding your own styled wrapper, maybe a different font, or changing the shape, or angle of the icon etc... we wouldn't have this problem.

I don't know if a font change would have shout your mouth
and I wanted a curly font like that, I wanted a chocolate flavour and I wanted a red paper
so if thats what I want why can't I have it

Re: [Icon] dark chocolate w/ toffee Candybar

because its identical to this

http://img340.imageshack.us/img340/4162/33824785eh3.png

Minus a few lines and not being as refined.

Alot of your work is either copied or clearly done in an hour until you start work on the next bunch of identical looking icons.

I think people would just appreciate your work alot more, if you actually took time with your icons and not the constant release of ones that look unfinished.

I also really dont like your child like maturity when someone gives crit on something you do.

Re: [Icon] dark chocolate w/ toffee Candybar

I find all of you people deplorable. You are sitting here going off on Gloss yet the other new Candybar icon thread has nothing but praises in it. The other icon thread has icons of the same shape, same wrapper and generally what the *$(@# a Candybar icon SHOULD look like. Just because Gloss here made a cartoony looking version of basically what everyone else is doing .. you dis him. All of you should be ashamed of yourselves. Do you give the other person crap because they have children that resemble their grandparents .. variations on a theme .. variations on theme. Tis all it is.

If he made this from scratch and all of you feel justified to give him smack about it then walk your little high and mighty butts over to the other CB thread and dis that guy as well.

I've seen Glosses stuff since he started here .. and maybe some of it resembled other works but in very few cases has the thought " .. he ripped this .. " crossed my mind.

So go throw stones at someone elses glasshouse.

Re: [Icon] dark chocolate w/ toffee Candybar

I think people are just upset because of your distorted view of "design." It's about being original. It's one thing to use someone elses work for inspiration, but to just change one thing (at the most) and act like you made it is not cool.

Sorry if I used too many big words for you, like distorted and inspiration. yikes
