When I upgraded to Leopard I decided to switch from Adium to iChat, but I've always missed Adium's uber-customizable & ultra compact contact list. So I made this little mod that also removes the bottom buttons, which I'm never using.

Please don't ask for versions with the extra buttons or without a bottom bar at all, feel free to change everything yourself though.

Well, if you make backups it certainly is, but it doesn't come with a dedicated (un)installer.

Thanks for making this mod. It's neat, nice job.

The instruction in the dmg is petty nice too.

great mod.. but how well does this work with Chax' All Contacts contactlist? I have both Google and AIM in iChat.

I'm sorry it actually works when your viewing individual accounts buddy list. but when your viewing "all contacts" it doesn't seem to show up. great job though! it's more sleek!

I just uploaded a new version which comes with matching A/V icons for the status bar and it's now being distributed as a simple installer package, so you no longer need to copy everything manually.

I also looked into the missing Plus-button bug, but it doesn't actually seem to be a bug because the button is missing in my unmodified version of iChat too. So that's cleared
