[RSRC] iTunes style scrollbars for Leopard (update).

Thanks to Roosta, I finaly understood that Leopard still uses Extras(2).rsrc files. I made my own version of it using an old version of "MyTenFive" (originaly from Austin Heller's TenFive) to get iTunes style scrollbars in Mac OS X 10.5. Blue and graphite versions included, read the Readme.rtf file.

November, the 12th: small update, I corrected a small bug pointed by Dexmachina. I took iTunes™ © resources directly... tongue

Here is the file: http://www.abitbol.org/macosx/Extras.zip (mirror on sharebase.de)

... and here is the preview:
http://www.abitbol.org/macosx/itunes.png

PS: I can't change the list headers, I don't get it... It's probably due to Leopard's new GUI management hmm
Forgive my approximative english, remember: I'm french cool

Works great here. I've been waiting for this; thanks!

Edit: I'm actually going to use roosta's gray scrollbars, since they fit in even better. It's the thought that counts, though. smile

Alright, I've pasted the Extras2.rsrc into the directory you said in the text file, but so far I'm not seeing any changes.

Is there something else I am supposed to do?

I actually think these fit in better because they match iLife\iTunes.

I'd love to see Vitae's scrollbars on Leopard (mmm), however, this is a nice change.

Gracias.

If you didnt change your permissions for the Resources folder then it wont allow you to paste the modified Extras file in there.

When swapping Extras files (since the OSX public beta) I always create a folder inside Resources called "Stock"; drag the original Extras file in there, then drag your modded Extras file into Resources. Either force quit Finder or restart.

That is so great, but you should change the corner white box graphic and the width changing thing to a suitable grey as well. Then it would be perfect smile

You should mention that, after dragging the original resource files into the backup folder, if the files are still left in the resources folder (their original location), then you should trash them, then copy/move the new files over in their places.

If you just try to overwrite the extras files, it won't work.  At least that was my experience just now.  Also, a simple logout is all that's needed to re-instate the updated resources.

That said, thanks for the new files.  They help a lot.  It would be nice to see more variations packaged like this posted in the future by other people. wink

it'd be awesome if someone could do this with a brighter blue, like the default blue highlight color or the one from Aqua Inspiriat.

Roosta's grey version is here: http://www.box.net/shared/static/elgkcha6mj.rsrc (his is a Extras2.rsrc which works only on MacIntel, you can change it to PPC with ThemePark).

Thank you for the use of french big_smile
And I'm going to try to change the headers and a few other things! I loved TenFive so much cool

What would you think of pushbuttons, tabs, checkboxes and menus looking like that? (They are from an old theme of mine, compatible with Tiger only but I can add them to this Leopard mod)

Yeah I made this change back a few days before Leopard came out. Finally polished it. First posted it in MacNN forums. Roosta's later version used grey GUI bars. I prefer the blue.

http://macthemes2.net/forum/viewtopic.php?id=16782384

I dubbed it "Unified, slight return" tongue

Though since the elements are Apple's and not my own I can hardly claim originality.

If you could do that then it would be complete. As it would be then, leopard would be what it should have been, "Unified" and consistent throughout.

What I'd like is scrollbars like the white ones in the stationnery part of Mail.app, or like those you can see in this window : http://www.naked.la/light/features/home.jpg (too bad the app is terrible).

I've been told they were available in Interface Builder.

...Huh!? This is even more Aqua than Tiger! yikes Seems like a backwards step.
