Been ages since I came here. Mainly due to my outdated iMac G4 being limited to 10.4, any new themes were unusable to me. Seeing what I couldn't have, wasn't enjoyable, so I took a break from here.
Just yesterday, I bought a Mac Mini. 10.7.2 and it's... very different. Library hidden was annoying, but I found a way around it.
I've encountered a problem. Still in the process of copying some files from my old computer over (didn't want to do a complete transfer). I've found that many folders appear empty. The Get Info says they aren't, but I need nothing in them. Why is that? This goes for both files in the Drop Box folder and the Application Support folder, from what I've seen.
Hope someone has a fix. Once that gets resolved, my next inquiry would be about Lion customization. I know it's fairly new still (haven't seen any themes for it yet), but are their themes available? How about dock customization? I got the Amora icon set that includes the dock skin, but it doesn't seem to actually be in the Candybar icontainer.
Edit:
Found a "solution" to my empty folders issue. Tried copying the folders from the Mac Mini to an external HD connected to it and oddly enough all the files showed up in the folders. Gonna try copying them back to the Mac Mini, once they finish copying to the external HD and see if they show up on the Mac Mini after that... hoping they do.
Edit 2:
The issue with files not appearing seems to be not restricted to my Drop Box. Can't seem to get any files to load in the Utilities folder either. However, I was able to do a Finder search and got Disk Utilities up and running... no fix though.
Problem remains with some disk images as well. I downloaded the latest TinkerTool (is this safe with Lion?), but nothing is showing up in the disk image window. The window shows a constant loading wheel in the corner.
I can't seem to find any info with Google on anyone else having this issue.
Edit 3:
Finally found an Apple discussion board post about this issue here: click
So glad I'm not the only one with the problem. Reading the posts on it now, to see if anyone found a fix.
Edit 4:
Solution found.
Simply restart the Finder.
Yes. I feel dumb now.
:-!
