Right,

BACKUP EVERYTHING AND DONT HOLD ME RESPSONSIBLE IF YOU SCREW YOUR IPAD UP

I've had a fair few messages about my iPad and how I am theme it. So instead of giving out the same advice to people individually, i think it will be better to do it all as one so there's a thread for existing and new members.

Firstly,I have been unable to theme my iPad using winterboard. But i know some people have been able to theme it using winterboard. So i would suggest using that easier method first.

If that fails and the icons look too big, then try this method.

Download this file: http://www.mediafire.com/?b7z5yz5qd3gkovc

It contains 2 PSD files containing templates. One for AppStore app icons and one for Apple/Cydia app icons. They both are not "iconed" the same way on the ipad so you have to do them differently. Fortunately - my templates will make it easier for yous!
These template files are already populated with alot of SuaveHD icons :P

Apple & Cydia Apps:
1. Resize icon to 83x83 pixels.
2. Copy over into template file
3. Align so its directly over the default template icon.
4. Turn off default icon (so only your icon is visible) and then save

Apple/Cydia Apps are found in Applications Directory

AppStore Icons:
1. Copy over icon into template file (do not resize)
2. Align so its directly over the default template icon.
3. Turn off default icon (so only your icon is visible) and then save

Appstore Apps are found in Rawfile System/User/Applications

The next step is to make a note of what the default icon is called. This varies on the iPad and there is no repeating pattern from the developers.
Typically they are called either icon, Icon, Icon72, Icon-72, icon_iPad etc etc

Once you know the name of the original icon, rename your new themed SuaveHD icon to the exact same name. Then delete (or backup) the original icon -> copy over the Suave'd Icon -> respring.

Respring is necessary to clear the cache files!

"Respring" on cydia (free app) does that or you can use the respring function in SBSettings.

Suave is a theme by Thyraz. All credits go to him for creating a beautiful theme for us all to use. Credits to other members for creating the additional items based on Suave.

Credits for SuaveHD icons go to: pat974, drdreas, Mr.Sim, pat_ty, tirkish

Modding your LockScreen

This can be done in two ways. Either in Winterboard or through replacing the default images on the iPad.

If you use winterboard then simply create a folder inside your "Bundles" folder of your theme and call it TelephonyUI.framework and inject the images in there.

Otherwise, navigate to /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/TelephonyUI.framework

The files you need to replace are:
bottombarknobredT
BarBottomLock
bottombarknobgrayT
BarBottomLock_T
BarLCD
BarLCD_T

If you rather just have it like mine then simply copy over the files from mine to this folder.

To remove the stupid slide show image (the flower icon) on your lockscreen put the file below in your Themes folder and enable in winterboard (/var/stash/Themes.xxxxx). This will also remove the "Slide to unlock" text

Signal Bars / WiFi Bars, Battery etc
Modding the Sigal bars, Wifi Bars, Battery etc is done in the way the iPhone3GS/iPhone 3G.
Simply replace the files in Springboard.app

Charging battery:
Use the original Suave battery pack (the non-hd version) and just copy the files over to springboard.app.
They work without any need of modding

SBBadge:
The original from Suave (the non-hd version) works but you just need to move it down a little and to the right
Easy to do in PS.

Backgrounder Badge:
The original from Suave (the non-hd version) works. Simply copy over to springboard.app and rename it Backgrounder_Badge

Circuitous:
My modification: http://www.mediafire.com/?p35dgf8oitndal3

Fonts:
Although FontSwop doesn't work on the iPad so well, it can still change the Lock Clock font. It wount change any other font on the system apart from the lock clock.

Great job Maxamus, I can't wait to get Suave on mine :D
Thanks Mr. Sim

:-!
Wow thanks for releasing this it looks truly amazing:D. One thing though when you said restring to clear cache I think you mean respring.
For me the icons on an iPad look silly. They dont seem big enough, and dont really fit the space properly.
That should not be the case because the icons in the template are the same size as the original icons.

There must be something on your iPad that is downsizing them.
Oh wow !!! If only this were here the night before, would have saved me the 30+ pages of reading and confusion :p Thank you again Max ! Awesome work, my iPad finally doesn't lookmso hideous.
is it possible to just use the suave HD for iphone theme that the author has on his website on the ipad without any issues? or do all the icons need to be ported?

iPhone 4 has a retina display and the iPad does not so the icons are too large for the iPad and thus have to be down-sized.
Could you not just... upload what you've done?

What do you think all the above is?

All the information and tools you need are posted above.

The templates include over a 100 icons which are iPad ready!

Did you respring after you copied the files over?

why and I mean WHY can't you just upload a Winterboard theme for us to grab it from cydia??? Some of us don't like to mess with the iPad to make it look great. please please please let us find it from cydia (iPad ready)

As he said he did not use winter board to theme his iPad and probably does not want to go through all of the work to find the bundles for every application just to settle a few peoples needs.

Because for one winterboard eats up available memory and two, because winter board is not fully iPad optimised.

SuaveHD theme is for the iPhone4 which means the icons have a higher resolution than the iPad and that's why you can't simply theme it using winterboard.

I mean, is it really that hard to do what I've pointed out above?

maxamus do you know of any way to remove the labels under the icons, while at the same time keeping the labels under category folders ?
Borzich wrote:maxamus do you know of any way to remove the labels under the icons, while at the same time keeping the labels under category folders ?

I use BossPaper to remove icon labels but I don't have folders or categories so I don't now about that.
@Maxamos Hey could you please add your .theme for download here?

:)

I'd appreciate veeerrryy much!
